Helping the Community

In the spirit of Rotary this Club has performed an extensive list of services, benefiting the individual and community:
  • Annually we award an average of $7,000 in scholarships to college-bound high school seniors from Burlington City, Burlington Township and Doane Academy.
  • We support the Home for Aged Women in Burlington City, a century-old organization that provides a safe living environment for elderly women who have no means of support.
  • We partner with the YMCA of Burlington and Camden Counties  to provide the Y’s programs to individuals and families who cannot pay for them.
  • Every Month we recognize outstanding 8th graders from public and private schools as our Rotary Students of the Month.
  • Contributions toward reading and educational programs run by the Library Company of Burlington
  • Our club’s "Start Kids Smart” program provides backpacks full of schools supplies to needy students.
  • We are the proud charter organization for Boy Scout Troop 764
  • Support various community programs which serve the youth of our area.
  • Private support of local people in need.
  • Support and sponsor the Interact Club for high school students which teaches leadership, good citizenship and the importance of community service.
For over 50 years Burlington Rotary has nurtured deep roots in the community. Our assistance and guidance is appreciated by many students, seniors, and others, thanks to Rotary support of Burlington City High School Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and other civic groups, educational organizations and more.

Making a Better World
In other ways, we assist those in need worldwide...
  • Money and supplies sent to a Armando Rosenberg Home and School. An orphanage in the poorest barrio in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic. Our help includes sending generators, refrigerators, furniture, school and medical supplies and clothing.
  • We actively participate in the Gift of Life program where children and their families are flown into Philadelphia’s Children’s Hospital for medical care that they cannot receive in their own countries.
  • Annual contributions to the Rotary Foundation (LINK) which sponsors programs that foster international understanding.
  • Active participation in Rotary International’s International Student Exchange Program.
